Kansas Valley 3-18-2020

Stream had nice water for brookies but it was still a bit cool. No bugs on the water yet but then I might be rushing the season.
That's not to say we didn't catch a few...we did. But, we lost far more than we landed and, except for one, they were all really small.
When the warmer water hits this will be a nice stream for dries.

Ed got a couple and missed many more as well. Gotta love these little streams!
This had to be the smallest fish of the day we caught. Amazing colors though.
In larger holes and pools like this one we all but struck out. Fish were really spooky and the water was gin clear.
Some did get caught though. Mostly in broken water.
In this stream there really isn't any "casting". It is mostly dabbling and dropping in holes like the one above
Another brookie. They were all healthy and all were returned in good shape.
